Ubuntu 7.10 Tribe 6 - Not a Formal Release
Yes, you read that right. The Ubuntu 7.10 Tribe 6 testing release is not really a release. It was decided to use it as a bug fixing milestone instead.
Following discussion with the QA, GNOME, Linux, installer and other teams we have decided not to make a formal release for Tribe 6, but rather to use it as a milestone for bugfixing.
I’m not sure it that means there will be a CD or not. It looks like some developers decided it was not worth the work to make a whole release when there were no new features.
The next formal release will be the beta, coming on September 27th. Bookmark the Gutsy release schedule if you would like to keep track.
