Ubuntu 7.10 Tribe 4 Released

The 4th testing release of Ubuntu 7.10 “Gutsy Gibbon” is out. VERY nice improvments in this release:

Tracker running by default
Fast user switching
Deskbar applet on panel
New OpenOffice.org 2.3
AppArmor security by default
Smooth shutdown splash

Now that the shutdown splash has been improved work should be done on the startup splash, which has not ever work well for me. Unfortunately I can’t try Tribe 4 because my CD drive died yesterday. (Time for a new computer!)
