Sometimes you have to take a hit and realize that you made a mistake. There are things you could do though to resolve the situation without taking a huge hit. Sell the thing on an auction site for example. If you value your freedom- you shouldn't play ball with Microsoft, Apple, or any other company that acts in ways you find egregious. You might not have allot of options- but you do have options. I chose to stop playing ball and am better off for it. I don't end up in these "this sucks- it doesn't work" situations any more. Those who have issues like this are switching over and just come to understand the issues or don't get it. If you get it you don't play ball with bad companies and products-it's that simple. Shoot, the only reason I even dual boot with Vista is to run itunes every now and then. I would love to see wine become more capable so I could be able to never have to boot up a windows OS ever again... This is really good to know.
