Safari 3 on Linux

Now that Apple has released Safari 3 for Windows, there is the possibility of running it on Linux with Wine. This would be nice for web developers using Linux who can test IE7 with Wine but can’t test with Safari.

Unfortunately, I tried Safari in the latest Wine and it did not work. Because iTunes 7 does still not work in Wine it could mean getting Safari working could take a while. There is already a AppDB page for Safari if you are interested in getting it working.

I simply browsed to my XP partition and launched ‘safari.exe’. It opened in Wine and runs perfectly, except for the fonts on the menu.
